Off Grid Solar Power
How it works
When Sun light falls on the panels , it helps in charging the battery through inverter and stores. When the battery is full, it shares the load with utility, with out consuming the battery charge. That is, if your system is 3 Kw ( 3000 Watts ) and your total load is 5Kw (5000 Watts), it tends to share a maximum of 1 Kw to 3 Kw from solar and rest from Utility thus helping you save Electricity bill (Protection is given so that voltage is not drifted to utility).
If Utility is absent or not working , inverter will take up the stored energy from battery and run your loads (upto to its capacity, back will be according to the no of battery).
The term Off Grid means that , The system will not be connected to utility in one way or other , i.e sharing of utility is not possible for charging your battery which Is connected to the solar.

On Grid Solar Power
How it works
When Sun Falls on to the solar panels, the current flow to the inverter through Array box and protection box, This Array box is given since on grid system projects are done in high capacity, therefore looping of solar panels have to be done, DC protection is to be given since it’s a constant current its very dangerous. Here the current flow to the consumer load on demand and if there is more load needed it takes from utility, if its vise versa its feed to utility, this feeding to utility will be monitored with the help of net metering. The load from utility will be calculated for billing only after reducing the units generated from Solar.
The term On Grid means that, The system will be connected to utility in one way or other, i.e sharing of utility is possible if you are producing excess current from your Solar compared to the connected load.
